The dreaded Wyrm is a notorious beast known far and wide for its ferocity and unparalleled power. They say a single Wyrm has the capabilities of leveling an entire city within hours if left unchecked and to its own devices.

Though monstrous in size and strength and wretched in design, the Wyrm is no product of the Cosmos but instead a natural being native to Auria that is believed to have an ancestry to Dragons. Ancient records deep within the Astral Observatorium of Dragonhearth state that the Wyrm is a "Primal design that would later lead to the birth of the first Dragons: Zamendrya and Xaxandros". Whether it be a cruel prank made by the Gods of eld or a misfortunate circumstance the Wyrm would be brought into existence alongside the rest of the Galaxy even if only a handful of them exist.

Wyrms are rarely hunted because of their elusiveness, power and the fear that provoking a Wyrm may cause the deaths of thousands. Instead the spawn of the Wyrms, the Leviathans, are targeted. Fortunately for mortal kind no Leviathan can hope to grow as big and feared as a Wyrm.

The following is a list of known Wyrms of Auria:

Fathomaw, the Scourge of the Seven Oceans

The Fathomaw strikes

Living beneath the ceaseless waves of Auria's deepest oceans, Fathomaw is a legendary being among the Lamia who's domain is underwater. Though Fathomaw hunts mainly in the deepest dark of the oceans, he has been known for emerging above the waves and attack innocent vessels, sinking them in seconds. Fathomaw is subject to many stories told by Pirates as well as myths revolving among the Hayka and Vishaali of Saberos. Fathomaw's children, the Sea Leviathans, are notoriously as aggressive as their parent but are not as deadly. The Ghost Ship is unliving proof of the Fathomaw's vengeance.

Using the portals of the Lamia, the Fathomaw is not restricted to one ocean.

Jormungar, the World Shaper

Jormungar is a Wyrm living beneath the icy waves of Wyrmeron and is believed to be the namesake from which the planet gained its name. Believed to be a god banished from the heavens by the God King Odinn, Jormungar prowls the frozen ocean in search of prey to feast upon. His shining blue scales are coveted by Urson and Fjordsid alike in their weapon and armor crafts. Though he moves within the domain of the seas, at times even alongside his brother the Fathomaw, Jormungar may also burrow into the ground and emerge from under it to attack on land.

Myths circulate around Jormungar which state that his banishment from the heavens took place during a primordial era for Auria. When he was imprisoned beneath the waves of the planet now known as Wyrmeron he carved the northern continent in his shape and the southern continent in the shape of his love with whom he could no longer spend time with.

Nyamikub'wa, Mother of the Seas

In ages past Nyamikub'wa prowled the oceans of Auria as their guardian protector, a vast Wyrm who's body created massive tidal waves that blessed the shores with life and hope. She was a benevolent creature, one who showed love and care towards lesser creatures which would be an exceptionally rare trait for a Wyrm to carry. Her docility would invite the ire of Fathomaw, who hated her nurturing spirit and challenged her numerous times, though Nyamikub'wa would never entertain his bloodthirst.

There would come a day while stalking the fertile ocean of Grukoor that Nyamikub'wa would get ambushed by Fathomaw and mortally wounded, the greater and more ferocious Wyrm biting a chunk out of her body and leaving her incapable of swift swimming. Just then, Incendius' meteor would come crashing down on the planet, eradicating all life and burning away the seas, leaving the benevolent Wyrm to burn as well.

Having not survived the desolation of Grukoor, Nyamikub'wa's skeletal remains can still be found in Duiwei to this day, her bones a sacred place to some albeit the travel there is a dangerous one. It is said that the ground around her remains is blessed with life. Some of Nyamikub'wa's fangs would be fashioned into the Banner of the Wyrmhunters by Kwanele of the Bloodied.
