Background
Master of the Ethereal Chain and Guardian of the Senkh - Aechronos is the benevolent God of Time for Auria.
His existence begun like most other Aurian Gods: with the Galaxy created, the Eldest sought to establish powerful beings to look over it and keep it from falling back into disarray. Everything from the great cycle of life and death to the need for seeking wisdom and seeking war - a God was made for it, yet there would a force far greater than anything even a God could truly control: Time. Always moving forward and yielding to nobody, the full power over time was deemed too important to place in the hands of one singular God as its effects could ripple beyond the origin Galaxy. Instead, Aechronos was created with but a fraction of the power which would limit his potential tampering of the strands of time.
Despite what little he was granted by the Eldest, Aechronos would prove to be an invaluable God who's even-limited control over time has allowed the Pantheon to strategize a perfect defense for their world for countless millennia. It is also through his presence that the other Gods can manage their roles in a timely manner without being overburdened. Aechronos's snake-like form has inspired the desert-dwelling Senkh to worship him ever since they first took sight of the great Snake God flying across their night sky many hundreds of years ago which has granted him the Faith required to watch over the past, present and even the future without peril.
Aechronos was also tasked with upholding the Ethereal Chain, an aetheric strand which runs through each major galactic body of Auria and guides the planets to be in perfect alignment at all times so that the days and nights run their course normally. He is union with Khepros, the God of Labour, to continue a watchful maintenance of this process.
The arrival of the Ezamas some 200 years ago was revolutionary to not only the Mortals of Auria but also the Gods as for the first time ever they came into contact with beings from another Galaxy entirely, with different now long-gone Gods as well. Though much of their knowledge of their original homeworld's Gods was lost to history, what was notable was that ancient Ezama records found within the ruins of the Naj'Albaria referenced a God also known as Aechronos being a part of the Pantheon of Zetur. This knowledge sent Aechronos into a shock that would cause the God of Time to retreat into his inner sanctum upon the Sands of Time to reflect upon his existence. Though his work continued, he became disconnected from the other Gods and his worshipers which would send the Senkh in Auria into sorrow over the silence of their beloved deity towards whom they have dedicated so much Faith for countless ages.
In the year 3000 the Grand War begun in Imperia, the Senkh were once more under siege by the neighboring nation of Luxfordia. As their smaller settlements fell to the unstoppable force of the Human kingdom and any survivors were escorted to take refuge in the capital, Pharaoh Sutanssen Horus and his Sekhmet Order remained faithful towards their God, praying with all their might and being that he would come to their aid as their people face the threat of extinction brought on by the mad King Yvain. With the aid of his partner Khepros, who had gone through a similar depression many millennia ago, Aechronos would come out of his silence. When all hope begun to falter and the Senkh were ready to kneel down to the ongoing onslaught, Aechronos's figure was said to once more appear across the desert sky and encase Shassussin within a time stasis through which no outside may enter.
The Senkh would reawaken from the stasis three years later, but for them it would have only felt like a moment. Aechronos would once more appear before them then and give his heartfelt apologies for his long drawn out silence, vowing to continue to be worthy of their Faith from now on.
Powers and Abilities
As the God of Time, Aechronos has a varying amount of control over the flow of time which is for the most part limited to an area. He can reverse time, speed up time or completely stop time in a given area or for a select few entities which can either support allies with increased speed or do the reverse on enemies. His greatest feat of his powers was the time stasis over the entirety of Shassussin city for three years, though such a feat also cost him a great deal of energy which he had been storing for the two centuries he spent in isolation.
Aechronos does not enjoy tampering with time even in localized areas as he believes it goes against the rules given to him by the Eldest which means he only uses such abilities as a last resort. Instead, Aechronos' favoured means of using his powers is foreseeing future events and planning accordingly, aiding his fellow Gods in planning strategies. It is worth noting that though Time is a powerful force, the forces of the Cosmos are beyond obeying the ordered timescape and as such Aechronos has a difficulty seeing clearly events which surround it.
