Background
Blackscale was born in Dragonhearth and raised by a pair of loving dragons named Blackwing and Zarestra. The names they had weren't bringing them much positive attention but they hold onto their more primal names, believing that fancier ones weren't bringing anything good outside of possible headache. Attitude of his parents reflected on Blackscale as well as he didn't mind his name, in fact enjoyed it due to how simple it was to say and write. His whelphood wasn't as easy as for majority of the dragons due to his scales, the name played a factor in it as well but had only minor impact. Generally speaking dragons of completely black scales were usually met with much more wary gazes as dragons believed that each scale represented some kind of characteristic and black ones in draconic history were very polarizing, fairly often they would end up as one of the worst villains while others could be amazing scholars, writers, researchers and spellcasters. It was widely accepted that black scaled dragons were generally hungry for knowledge, significantly more than their fellow whelps.
Blackscale was similar when it came to hunger for knowledge. He was figuratively and literally devouring books one after another, usually paying for that time with little time for fellow whelps and weakening his social capabilities. Luckily for him he wasn't the only child of his parents as they weren't afraid of having a wider and bigger family than most of the dragons. Majority believed to raise few, usually two or three, children and provide them with best opportunities they could. However Blackscale's parents were different as every thirty-or-so years they brought to world few whelps that they raised and cared for alongside their older ones.
With that Blackscale's social circle was somewhat limited, yet with such broad family consisting of dozens of dragons he always had someone to talk to. Of course not everyone was able to maintain a great knowledge and bond with their siblings as there were simply too many, yet the blood bound between them was noticeable and helped with making them feel less alienated.
Due to that Blackscale raised over time with not too many worries along his path. Although he was only third black scaled dragon in his whole family, right after his father and older sister, the siblings haven't made any issues about it and treated him as one on even. They provided him with equal opportunities when it came to socializing, learning and enjoying life and he definitely was enjoying it as much as he could.
At age of 60 he was called upon Zamendrya's scholars who were always paying attention to youth who were exceptionally hungry for knowledge or that were raising trouble. Luckily for Blackscale it was the first option as they offered him to join under a scholar's wing to learn more about magic and guide him properly through his youth. As much as they trusted in his intentions being clear and hunger healthy they knew a young soul like him could get corrupted. With that such younglings were offered to train and learn under one's wing for many years to come. Blackscale instantly accepted the offer, overjoyed with possibilities to devour more knowledge and books, although the latter wasn't going to be as easy anymore. A dragon called Phesiemius took care of him.
Up to this day Blackscale is under Phesiemius's wing and still learns more, recently being tasked with exploring other places under a disguise that would teach him more about other races and worlds not from draconic perspective. That task was given to him for many years as that is time-consuming and results aren't expected to be seen for a long time. Although hesitant at first Blackscale took up on this part of the training as well. With that Phesiemius and Blackscale figured out a mortal disguise for him. That process took weeks of research and preparation as Blackscale was extremely picky about the options and appearance of his body. That part of training was meant to last up to week but Blackscale stretched it to over 2 months before they came to agreement at Phesiemius's displeasure, feeling that Blackscale was taking more than he could bite. Phesiemius wanted to give Blackscale much more natural and blending appearance of more common races but Blackscale leaned towards an Asvar-Dragon hybrid, believing this would give him many more opportunities and excitement. With that Blackie a mortal form of Blackscale was created, allowing him to interact with other races, usually at disadvantage.
As last part of that ritual Blackscale was given his tattoos, shapes of that he figured out with his brother. The tattoos themselves were pouring with Sorcery and tapped into his Mantra as with power his spirit had to be healthy and cared for as much as his brain. The tattoos were at least done much faster and easier as Phesiemius was already given the shapes that Blackscale wanted.
Physical Appearance
Blackscale is a rather muscular black-scaled dragon of average height. Due to his genetics his wings were fragile and at young age they tattered, becoming useless in flight unless supported with magic. Without magic they could be used for gliding, although that was a bit of a stretch and they weren't able to regenerate themselves for long. His body was covered in Black scales with a contrast of brighter orange ones at the inner side, looking like massive unified scales. His front left arm and base of the tail were tattooed in pink by Phesiemius to help him with harvesting the knowledge and power while also supporting his spirit. His back was covered in similar scales when compared to the inner side but they were smaller, thicker and darker than the rest, providing a solid protection for him. His head sports two pair of horns on his head, both perfectly curved, while at the tip of his snout there was one much shorter one.
