Origin
Enrali are humans that were blessed and changed after events of Night of the Blood Moon where Perisha and Malva came from their planes of existence onto Auria to stop the unnatural and disturbing flow of souls into the afterlife, that was caused by dragons of Wyrmeron. Through their hunger and hatred for mortals, that stole their knowledge, they wiped out majority of mortal settlements on Wyrmeron.
After these events roughly two thousand Enrali were left in hands of Malva to care for and guide them through the hard times as Perisha returned to her duty of guiding the lost souls. The barrier exists to this day, protecting the Enrali while Malva by now gave the leadership towards Grand Harbinger Johani who should be more suitable leader of her people than a god.
Enrali aren't known to many people, even Urson and Avari that share the continent, aren't sure whether their existence is real or just a rumor as they live in a cold harsh climate and on opposite site of the continent that goes through dragon territory, making the others not willing to go and check the rumors for themselves.
Religion and Customs
Enrali worship Perisha and Malva as their saviors. Even though it isn't a requirement they believe their free-willed worship combined with sincerity of their sacrifices keeps up the barrier from dragons.
Enrali do sacrifices at start of each season, putting on pedestals and small handmade shrines a nominal amount of crops from previous season to show their gratitude. This tradition used to have much more crops and food being sacrificed on pedestals and shrines but Malva had to forbid it after seeing Enrali suffer greatly through harsh winter with minuscule amount of supplies.
Whenever person dies in Heirdorm, whether it is from old age or an accident, Enrali hold a quiet and small funeral for such person in a nearby forest. It is believed that Perisha takes their souls and guides them like Malva guided them in life. Every funeral that happens is always accompanied by a brief, cheerful music played through harmonica that always comes from nearby trees. The Enrali that have met Malva and heard her play on her harmonica realize that it is her instrument even though she isn't seen by anyone.
Once a year, during the warmest day Malva shows up in Heirdorm to take care of statue of Perisha and all the gifts that Enrali left underneath it. When this day comes many Enrali show up to witness one of their saviors that always has a cheerful smile on her face, yet they do not interrupt her work. During her work Grand Harbinger Johani shows up as well to talk with Malva in private whether it comes to guidance regarding their people, the ceremonies they have and gifts they give. These talks usually last four hours before Malva resumes her duties. Whenever Enrali hold a funeral during this day Malva personally shows up and plays on her harmonica while sitting a branch of a nearest tree. When the day comes to an end no one knows when Malva disappears but the ones who were last to see her remember blue eyes glowing in the darkness that enveloped her body.
Society and their Structure
Enrali are hard-working people that focus on three main things and separate themselves into groups that cooperate with one another. These groups being Workers, Peacekeepers and Harbingers.
Workers are the biggest group and they focus on gathering food, whether it is fishing, hunting animals or gathering crops in their harsh climate. They also take care of many other basic things like mining, gathering wood, delivering supplies, fixing houses and things of public use, like benches, statues, roads and more. Even though these are their main tasks Enrali from Peacekeepers and Harbingers show up when they can and aid.
Peacekeepers are Enrali that are determined to protect the people of the village. Their days usually consist of training and fighting to hone their skills. They train using fists, ranged weapon like bows, crossbows and guns, and melee weapons like short swords, two-handed maces and axes. Peacekeepers have their gear created by two local Blacksmith that were gifted Books of Crystal Armor and Weapons by Malva who found these along one of her journeys, allowing them to be extremely sturdy. Between Peacekeepers there are generals that are represented with golden armor that contrasts between the purple armor of their people. Peacekeepers are also training Workers and Harbingers regularly to make sure they stay in great condition and are able to help one another.
Harbingers are the least in numbers and are the ones most devoted towards Perisha and Malva but also their people. They consist of 30 Harbingers, lead by Grand Harbinger Johani and they are working as a council for Heirdorm. They make list of priorities what needs to be taken care of and split the supplies between all the people. They also settle the amount of people spread between Peacekeepers and Workers. Harbingers are judged yearly by Malva and decides whether their ranks have to be increased or decreased to keep up with the amount of Enrali that is slowly growing.
Up to this day Enrali aren't willing to leave Wyrmeron, believing that their boats would be attacked by the dragons whenever they get far off shores. However there are very few ones every year that want to go and spread their knowledge and experience with other races and share the story of Perisha and Malva that saved them. They are blessed by Harbingers, trained and equipped by Peacekeepers and supplied by Workers before being allowed departure on durable small boats to decrease chances of being attacked.
No matter the groups Enrali sorted themselves into they are still able to look at each other as even people to share happy and sad stories while supporting one another. They are thin in numbers and they know that without one another they would be doomed.
Physical Description
Enrali take form gifted to them by Perisha to increase their chances of survival. The key body structure remains mostly the same to not bring them much discomfort. From their heads they have pair of horns poking out that take various shapes, that can be altered, and length. They have to hone their horns every few years as they are always growing.
Their facial expression is usually welcoming but rough as the skin is thicker than of a human. Their eyes glow slightly in the dark but the nose, lips and ears did not go through significant changes. Their length however was increased as they are on average 225 cm tall, allowing them to store the extra strength more easily.
Arms are longer but the general look is the same while their strength is significantly increased. They were bestowed with it by Perisha so they could take better care of themselves, whether it was for building, farming or fighting. The chest did not go through any changes for females, similar to their waist. The only difference were prehensile tails on the back of their waist that could get very long and even reach the ground. They are usually adorned with various jewelry while Enrali maintain full unrestricted movement of it.
The biggest difference was below waist as their legs were significantly strengthened to carry them, making the thighs and calves much more exposed. However the most noticeable part were the hooves that they walked on that were very durable and strong, being able to serve as a weapon when the situation called for it.
Enrali are split into males and females yet these differences are significantly more blurry than they used to see as males got more feminine in general appearance, the easiest way for them to distinguish one another is depth of the voice and whether chest had breasts or not. Enrali also developed different societal horn shapes to add one more tool to distinguish gender of one other more easily.
