Background
The Five Thunders (Sometimes called the Five Thunders Clan) is a powerful faction within the Bjorn that devotes itself to researching the history of the world, teaching magic to Urson and providing a backbone to the military might of the Icesworn. While the aforementioned Icesworn focus on traditional military prowess and training their youth physically the Five Thunders are more mystical in nature practicing magic and spellcraft, being the main educators in the Bjorn.
The Five Thunders are known as Krom, Brok, Valka, Strom and Aikos - each with a corresponding title. They are the spiritual leaders of the clan and the Bjorn as a whole, often being viewed as religious figures as well. Each Thunder has their own coven within the clan where their followers study from them, a select few who do good enough being chosen as apprentices for the Thunder so that when they pass on from the world the apprentice may take up their name, title and role within the Clan. The first Five Thunders are said to be the five students of Yrsa, the first Templar who tamed the storms with her pinewood staff and split the continent of north Wyrmeron in half, creating the Frostfire Isles.
Under them, many academies and schools have been erected where Urson children may go to learn and prepare themselves for their futures. Many libraries and archives have also been built and looked after by the Five Thunders Clan as they document and chronicle the lore of their people and the rest of Auria. Their most prominent place of education is known as the isolated Torden Nexus atop Mt. Isenrok which is both an archive of knowledge as well as the core of magical studies for the Bjorn. Though many schools of magic are covered in Torden Nexus, the primarily elements they focus on are frost and lightning magic as well as blessings.
