History

Prior to the Era of Magic trading across Auria varied from culture to culture. Nomadic people would see trades purely through favours to one another while the few kingdoms that existed back then had developed a system using coins to trade goods. Unfortunately the though minerals used to make these coins, Gold and Silver, were and still are rare. Some nations would switch into using other forms of trade when Gold and Silver became scarce, using other resources or making attempts at establishing laws to regulate trade but nothing would ever be set in stone.

The year 1312 would mark the year when an Enkhulu named Mansmusa of the newly risen Urol empire discovered a method of cutting gemstones into perfect hexagonal shapes. He would go on to use these coin-shaped Gexes, as he called them, to trade in abundance with his fellow people, becoming a wealthy man in the eyes of the Enkhulu. His schemes and machinations would eventually make him the new ruler of his people, becoming known as the Golden Warlord who paved the way for the empire's future. The use of Gex became commonplace among the Urol.

By the year 1721 Gex became the common currency throughout the galaxy when a joint effort in making official Gexes was founded by Enkhulu, Humans and Fenik traders. They cited that since the gemstones used in making the coins was so commonly found on all planets yet still as valuable as Gold or Silver then Gex would be the ideal form of currency going forwards. They would go on to carve a hard to replicate sigil into each coin of Gex to mark them as official. This joint effort would go on to become the Galactic Bank of Auria (GBA) and their vaults, banks and workshops producing and refining Gexes are found commonly on every planet to this day.
