Beginning adventurers may see the Gooys as fearsome opponents but in truth they should never be dreaded. Gooy are slimy lifeforms that wander the land aimlessly, attempting to prey upon other lifeforms though rarely succeeding, resulting in the Gooys most often just devouring still plant life to sustain themselves. To the simple folk of Auria, Gooys are seen more as rodents that can cause trouble when they get near a farm or storage facility, their goo drenching whatever surface they touch and it is incredibly annoying to clean it off. Some people have managed to befriend Gooys with food to keep them as pets though they have proven to be quite obnoxious to have around the house.

Due to the elemental properties of Gooys, their goo is often used in alchemy to create an assortment of potions.

When a Gooy expires typically at the age of 5, it becomes a pool of loose residue. If multiple Gooys of the same element expire in the same area, this loose residue may come together to form a more powerful monster known as a Materia.

Powers

Gooys who are not infused with any elemental property also possess no skills beyond rolling around slowly.

Those with elemental powers have elemental resistances based on what element they come from, the colour of their slime corresponding to their element, however this also means that they may be weak to an element that is opposite to the one they are. None of the elements can protect them from direct, physical attacks, fortunately Gooys who are sliced or hacked tend to split into smaller Gooys instead requiring multiple direct attacks to properly destroy one.

Common Elemental Gooys are Fire, Water, Earth and Wind. Rare Elemental Gooys are Life and Death.

Gooys attack by slowly rolling towards their prey and jumping at them when they get close to deal collision damage based on what element they are from. In rare situations where a Gooy does down their foe, the Gooy will begin a slow process of consuming their body. Gooys grow more larger the more lifeforms they are able to consume and they may also merge with other Gooys to become bigger. Larger and more daring Gooys are able to consume a living being just by absorbing them into their body, slowly suffocating them while their prey attempts to break free which becomes more difficult the larger the Gooy is.

When a large Gooy dies or collides with something, they explode with their stored elemental energy, often times being their most dangerous attack. In process of exploding, massive Gooys also split into smaller ones.

Spirit Gooys is the name of the basic Gooy. They still explode but only with slimy goo and the potential to multiply. They have no elemental resistances or weaknesses.

Fire Gooys are almost always on fire and can spread this flame like wildfire if they happen upon a grassy field. They explode with fiery blasts. They are red and orange in colour and are weak to Water.

Water Gooys are looser in texture, appearing like water pulled together by a central force. The Water Gooy may lower its temperature to the point that its form becomes ice, which it typically does when it surrounds its prey, trapping them inside a solid body. They are blue in colour and are weak to Earth.

Earth Gooys are stickier and tend to stay together for longer when struck. They are also harder to break free from when they attach themselves to their prey. They explode with rocks and stones that float inside of their being. They are brown in colour and are weak to Wind.

Wind Gooys are cloudy and translucent. They are faster than the other elemental Gooys and can charge themselves with electricity and conduct it onto whatever metallic objects touch them. They explode to release a deadly electrical shock around themselves. They are yellow in colour and are weak to Fire.

Life Gooys shine with a bright light. They are docile and require no sustenance to stay alive. Their slime has powerful healing properties. They are white in colour and are weak to Death.

Death Gooys are voids of light. They are tougher, faster and more determined to kill than any other Gooy, making them a real threat. They are black in colour and are weak to Life.

Physical Appearence

Gooys are small slimy creatures that take on a roundish form, their bouncy texture adorable to some. They have large gaping mouths that they use to consume things. Basic, Spirit Gooys are green in colour, while Fire Gooys are red or orange, Water Gooys white or blue, Earth Gooys brown and Wind Gooys yellow.
