Overview

Gwynbrenon is a vast, largely unsettled planet that is left to the wilds. Home to the strong-willed Elves, the Gwynbrenon Wildlands are home to hundreds of different animals that live in the uncounted woodlands that spread across two continents undisturbed by Mortal activities other than the natives that have learned to respect the wilderness and live as one with it. Gwynbrenon is split into five regions between two continents, with the eastern continent housing three and the western continent two regions. The three regions of the east are Tranquilon, a mystical forest home to the Elves, Blackwood, a cursed and dark-ridden woodland home to shadowy beasts and Trolls, and Emberos, also once a forest but not burned to ash and turned into a dreaded, volcanic region where no mortal dares to settle. The two regions to the west are Silverbough, a lush pine tree forest with many rivers and lakes, and Eaglepeak, a dry, arid mountainous landscape.

Around the end of the Era of Unity, the western continent of Gwynbrenon became enshrouded by an unnatural mist which would block any outsiders from nearing the land as well as preventing anyone on the continent from leaving it, splitting those who lived in Silverbough and Eaglepeak off from the rest of the planet for the unforeseeable future.

Across Gwynbrenon are great trees known as the World Trees which are thousands of years old, their roots reaching deep into the planet and their leaves and bark infused with latent magical energies. As they are few in number, the World Trees are safeguarded by the Elves, who have built settlements around them to keep an ever watchful vigilance over them much like the Protectorate Trees watch over the land they call home.

Roughly 10 years ago, the mists covering the western continent suddenly dissipated after many centuries of blocking access to the lands underneath, uncovering the ancient lands of Silverbough and Eaglepeak. These lands are primarily home to tribalistic Wolfen who's ancestors were locked away in the land when the mist first appeared.

Gwynbrenon is the third largest planet in Auria. It is the third Planet from the sun.

Tranquilon

Tranquilon is a beautiful and vast forest that makes up the western side of Gwynbrenon. Known for its far reaching trees, mystical rivers and calm environment, Tranquilon is the home of the Elves and their allies who have settled towns all across the woods using the aid of the wilds to live among the different beasts and plant-life that also call Tranquilon their home. Unique to his region, the trees are not only crowned with green and yellow leaves but also blue and purple. The nights in Tranquilon feature soft beams of moonlight dazzling through the leaves of the trees that cover the land giving its denizens a mesmerizing lightshow.

The land is also densely packed with countless notable bodies of water that the native Wylderin both revere and make use out of daily. Such notable bodies include the twin rivers Ema and Isa, which originate from the Sudame Lake at the foot of the Emberos mountains and serves as the coast for Riverin, Lake Sodah and the two rivers Laas and Ida which split the Blackwood from Tranquilon, and Crystarus lake found deep in the woods of north-east which also goes by the name Lover's Lake for its crystal-pure waters and magical potency making it a regular place of visit for lovers. Throughout the land are countless Springs as well with those resting at the foot of the Emberos mountains being considered Hot Springs.

Tranquilon features all four seasons of the year with the climate adjusting and changing corresponding to them.

The city of Nytlerei sits at the southern coast of the forest, the capital of the Elves and the gateway into the dreamworld itself.

Blackwood

As the southern shard of Gwynbrenon, Blackwood was once like Tranquilon featuring enchanting and vast forests but a deadly and shadowy curse would take hold of the region corrupting and decaying the woods, twisting its trees into sinister figures and poisoning the bounties that it featured. Blackwood's rivers and lakes are green in colour and none of its trees can bear leaves even during the warmest of seasons. The Gnolls and the Trolls make Blackwood their home, building tribal villages deep in the dark and twisted forest.

Blackwood's Springs and Summers are short-lived and often cold like the rest of the year.

The city of Maximon sits at the southern tip of Blackwood, capital of the Xib'alba.

Emberos

Like Blackwood, Emberos was also once a part of Tranquilon with beautiful woodland covering its territory but sadly a war between Drakes turned the earth dangerous as the Dragons begun to practice harsh magics that tore the land asunder and called forth surges of lava that bathed the land in it, destroying Troll and Elves settlements that were built there and causing the Elves to erect a massive stone wall to prevent anything from leaving or entering Emberos on foot.

What is left behind of the land is an ashen wasteland where the dirt is black like ash and the mountains sharp and refined with volcanos rising from every corner. Pools of magma and creatures of fire make up the land that the Drakes created. Emberosian Drakes make the volcanic land their home.

Silverbough

Silverbough.jpg

In the year 963 an expedition of Wolfen take to the seas of Gwynbrenon to explore the still uncharted land to the south-west. Though they land there successfully and establish a base of operations in the dense pine tree forest they are ultimately imprisoned upon the continent as a strange mist warps around the land and entraps anything from leaving alive. Though attempts to escape were made, the expedition quickly realized that there was no way off in their current situation and instead they pressed on to find the source of the barrier preventing exit. That age has long since gone and nobody quite knows what their fate was, but the mist barrier would re-open in the year 3010 and the Wylderin took it as a new opportunity to explore the land some deemed cursed.

What has been found is that Silverbough, the lowland of the continent, is inhabited by a populous of Wolfen disconnected from their mainland counterparts. These tribal Wolfen are deeply spiritual and live off the land while also paying tribute to the Gods much like the Wylderin do. Though they do not show open hostilities to the mainlanders, the tribes are wary of reconnecting with them as they believe themselves as the Wolfen who carry the blood of the first of their kind.

As previously mentioned Silverbough is a dense pine forest region notable for its hilly landscape and many waterfalls and rivers. tribal totems litter the land as shrines to the land and the Gods and many their tribal camps can be found across the forest living. Many beasts found in Tranquilon are also found in Silverbough.

Eaglepeak

Found at the western side of the continent Eaglepeak is a tall mountainous region with a notably dry atmosphere. It features a range of taller and taller peaks as a person travels north up the region until they come across the highest point in all of Gwynbrenon - Skiraha. Here a shrine has been erected in the name of all Aurian Gods by the tribal Wolfen.

Eaglepeak features a lot of avian species as the mountainous landscape and atmosphere is perfect for winged creatures to perch and hunt in. Harpies have long existed in this region.
