The Jadamida (Singular: Jadami) are an ancient race native to the Eoduun-Sup Wilderness of Serena. Sharing similarities with the neighboring Stervera of the Tuurai Fields, the Jadamida have always made their home in the lower regions of Hanayama where they still live in shadowed tribes of closed families and allies. Little is recorded of the Jadami prehistory as any and all tales told of them is done so through oral tradition leaving little to be said of them prior to the arrival of the first Oxine in the year 45 and the first Naga in the year 814, though even back then the Jadamida were spoken off softly and with caution as it was believed that they were weavers of curses and misfortune.

Despite this, the Jadamida are not only well known but also greatly dreaded by the other cultures that inhabit Serena because of their secretive and deceptive ways. When the Oxine first begun inhabiting the planet, the Jadamida were ruthless in preventing them from settling the southern reaches of Hanayama, using the shadows and deathly poisons to slay any they deemed trespassers to their lands. Even the mystical Naga in all their might and strategy could not risk settling in south Hanayama for that exact same reason.

Religion and Culture

The Jadamida follow the grace of Shikaze, God of Shadow, and the guidance of Geomi-Sin, God of Subtlety. They worship both equally though for different reasons, with Shikaze being believed to be a protector god for them who blessed their kind with powers of shadow and a long-life so they may serve her for many ages and Geomi-Sin for his guile and wisdom, his spider form the inspiration for the notorious assassins that are bred from their ranks. As such, Shikaze is often worshiped by the priests and the faithful among the Jadamida while Geomi-Sin is revered by their warriors and assassins. They view other Gods as lesser and those that believe if them as fools. Perisha is an exception to this as Jadami folk lore depict her as the younger sister to Shikaze and the avatar of the Moon that guides their way at night. Though they do not hold her with as high of a regard as the God of Shadows, Perisha is respected enough that they see those that believe in her as brothers or sisters and they even hold the 1st of Hienos in her honor, calling the day "Dalil'Perish".

To this day the Jadamida continue to act independently from the rest of the world, only ever dealing with others if it is through trade, trust or personal gain. The Jadamida are open to trading their most valuable of resources: their Crystal Silk, which they weave from the deadly yet highly valued Crystanid, a species of spider known for their glistening skin and beautiful diamond-like web. Only the Jadamida trade secrets have knowledge over how to properly care for the Crystanid and to harvest their beautiful silk effectively.

Jadamida are most active during the night, with their tribal villages beginning to bustle with activity when the moon rises.

Society and its Structure

The Jadami people are split across the lands of Eoduun-Sup in dense, shadowed forests where they have built tribal villages as homes. The Priesthood of Shadow is the governing force behind their numbers which makes its nest in their most holiest of places: Temple of Eoduun-San, a place of worship for the Jadamida dedicated towards both Shikaze and Geomi-Sin. The Priesthood is led by a female Kwin, who is also recognized as the queen of all Jadamida as a whole, but a Kwin is also always accompanied by Jiggon and a Salin, who serve as the left and right hands to the Kwin and are rulers of their respective halves in the temple: The Jiggon guides those following Shikaze and the Salin guides those following Geomi-Sin. The Jiggon is also responsible for overseeing the care and harvesting of their precious Crystanid as it is he or she that is trusted with the knowledge which makes it possible. The Salin, on the other hand, is often the one overseeing the training of the Jadamida's most elite fighters and defenses of their territory.

The Priesthood is also made up of Jadamida that live within the temple at all times, their law forbidding them from interacting with anyone outside of the temple grounds and, unless ordered by the Kwin, Jiggon or Salin, even leaving the temple in the first place. They are expected to act as willing followers to their leaders and to help carry the brood of the royal bloodline forever onwards.

Outside the temple, the Jadamida live simple lives, distrustful of anyone not of their own kin. Their tribes are made of many families and close friends living together.

Jadami have no surnames. Instead, they carry the name of their tribe with them. The Kwin's name is always followed by Sin, the Jiggon's name is always followed by Jin and the Salin's name is always followed Rin.

Physical Appearance and Behavior

Jadamida are a people with Human-like upper bodies and large spider-like lower bodies. Their human halves are nearly indifferent from actual Humans though they often appear with paler skin and less vibrant colours. Their spider forms feature two large, claw-like chelicerae where the Human half's crotch should be, these chelicerae are often confused for luscious feminine legs in the right light and angle. The chelicerae are in fact the main tool to deal death with for a Jadami as they possess large and durable fangs on each end which, coupled with the strength and speed of an experienced Jadami, can impale through a smaller mortal's body within the blink of an eye.

The spider half also possesses eight long legs which can cling onto almost any surface and carry the Jadami even up vertical surfaces. The large abdomen of the spider half carries within it a Jadami's own silk which can be used for entrapping prey or crafting into clothing if woven correctly. The silk of a Jadami is most often subpar in quality.

A Jadami is often characterized for their cunning and distrusting qualities. Jadamida, unlike most other Mortal races, are most active during the night when the sun has set. They prefer the night not only because of their culture revolving around subtlety and deceit but also their innate bodily functions that make them much more effective when it is dark. During the day, a Jadami is often found hidden away in a dark area within their home or whatever shelter they may find.

Jadamida find pleasure in toying with their prey, whether it be a beast they intend to eat or a mortal they intend to steal from or kill. They can be cruel and sadistic at heart, using tactics that bring out a great deal of fear out of who they stalk, though should one win over a Jadamida's trust then they lose these traits and become more caring to the point that they will vouch for them in front of other Jadamida.
