Meesin are hardworking and somewhat territorial humanoids that mainly dwell in Imperia, making the Honeyridge mountain their home. They are known for capturing any non-Meesin mortal that treads on their lands uninvited, bringing them to the Motherhive where the Hivequeen decides their fate. Though the Motherhive is the largest Meesin settlement in Auria, the bee-people have also been spotted settling smaller hives all over the galaxy.

The Meesin have existed since the Era of Prehistoria as a dominant race of the Azura region. Ancient scripture and carvings in old ruins found throughout the land tell the story of a time when they, alongside other native races of Azura like the Keklar, the Senkh and the Squros lived together as a united force and while each race was in equal standing all of them worshiped the figure of a bee-like Queen that looked after them. Since that time, the Meesin have lost their authority and influence due to an unexplained phenomenon which was intensified when the foreign nation of Luxfordia established themselves as the dominant force of the continent pushing all other races besides the desert-dwelling Senkh into a state of lesser importance. The Meesin, who have always dwelled in the Mysterne Upland since the establishment of their old civilization, remain to this day as an independent faction that inhabit their ancient home known as the Motherhive.

Through wars and tribulations the Meesin have survived, secluding themselves from the rest of the world and trusting few. In modern times they exist on neutral or hostile grounds with most factions, finding reasons to act friendly with none other than the Wylderin of Gwynbrenon. The honey and silk which the Meesin naturally create is a well-sold export for them and highly sought-after by many throughout the world.

Religion and Culture

Since the rise of their civilization the Meesin have bowed down to the God of Craftsmanship Artisa and have developed a rich cultural scene following their God's example. The art of spinning and weaving Glittersilk is a gift bestowed to them by their God and this silk is used to make the fabulous clothes all Meesin wear. Another natural gift of the Meesin is the ability to produce viscous and sweet honey known as Royal Jelly and feed off of it or sell to the world. Both of these gifts have given Meesin a chance to stand out in the world while also marking them as potential slaves for the less honest of folk in Auria that seek only to use them for personal gain. Out of fear of becoming slaves, most Meesin dare not dwell away from the protection of their home.

Imperian Meesin also worship the Deity Berexus, the God of Fertile Fields. Berexus serves as a physical embodiment of the gods' gift to Meesin and is a fervent protector of their territories.

Meesin culture also revolves around the study of herbs and plants, their main source of sustain coming from the honey they are able to produce from many of the wild flowers that grow in Imperia. As such, the Meesin are also naturally adapt at alchemy and their medicine is considered highly sought after by the neighbouring Luxfordian kingdom. Many high-class entertainers exist within their secluded hives that few outsiders have been lucky enough to bare witness to yet those who have say their performances are second to none.

Society and its Structure

Meesin live in closed-off hive colonies with the biggest one being the Motherhive in Honeyridge. Their people function eusocially, working together for the betterment of the whole colony with separate social classes that are assigned to each Meesin at birth though it may chance throughout their life.

Workers are the common class - they are bestowed with the role of safekeeping their hive from potential danger as well as construction work using their reserves of honey in combination of the stone their have mined from the earth to create a fortified underground structure for their people to live in.

Breeders are less common and are tasked with helping with the reproduction of their colony by bringing into the world new off-spring and taking care of them. Contrary to common knowledge a Meesin Breeder has freewill in their choice of partner and may choose to have a single one or multiple so long as they are another breeder and not a worker. When in a period where they cannot make off-spring, Breeders serve other jobs in their colonies that are less physically demanding as well as entertainment.

Beholders are Meesin that serve as the leaders of their respective colonies. There is only one in any Hive and they are a figurehead of authority personally selected by the Hivequeen to carry out the settlement of new colonies or aiding in enforcing her will onto the other classes. Though there is only one in each colony, the capital has dozens serving in the court of the Hivequeen. Beholders practice powerful magics that make them equally as formidable at long distances as they are in close quarters.

The Hivequeen (or simply Queen) is a female or intersex Meesin chosen to represent the avatar of Artisa and be the symbolic leader of all Meesin. There is only one Meesin Hivequeen and she inhabits the highest regions of the Motherhive, guarded by her Beholders and watching over her subjects who in turn look up to her as a bright beacon of prosperity and hope. The faith of her people makes the Meesin Queen a powerful figure in Auria that lives many, many years longer than a normal Meesin. When a Queen does inevitably die, a direct off-spring of hers is chosen to take her place.

Physical Appearance and Behaviour

Meesin take on the appearence of anthropomorphic bees, generally between 140cm to 180cm tall. They are covered in thick, yellow or orange and black fluff. The eyes of a Meesin are huge and pitch black, almost soulless and they have two black antennae sticking out their forehead which serve as their primary way to sense their surroundings. Most Meesin have large insectoid wings sprouting out of their back which allows them to fly incredible distances before needing to rest and their meaty legs also make them great runners on the ground. Parts of a Meesin's body is covered in a thick, furry coat.

The Meesin Hivequeen are much larger than the rest of their kin, generally around 250cm tall and more endowed. Their wings are also twice as big.

Arctic Meesin take on a different appearence than the regular Meesin, including their fluff taking on a bluish or white hue.
