Penguins are a species of native to Wyrmeron's southern continent Everfrost. Though they are a sophisticated and spiritual folk, their civilization is young compared to others in Auria.

Starting in the 2230s, the Penguins of Everfrost had practically gone extinct due to over hunting caused by a tribe of Fjordsid known as the Snojeger. The planet would enter a period where Penguin meat was a sparse rarity as suddenly no traces of the species' existence remained leading to the human tribe to ask for forgiveness from the elders in Eldgammelildsted. In response, their tribe would be destroyed and their people banished. One hundred years later, traces of a new civilization would be tracked on the south-western shores of Everfrost by the Fjordsid - what they would perceive as an enemy tribe, perhaps even the Snojegers themselves, would turn out to be a tribe of Penguins who, unlike those who were hunted before, now lived sophisticated lives in small snowy huts, spearfishing and worshiping Gods.

Mysteries surrounding their sudden existence cloud the world to this day as few have come to approach them let alone be befriended by them well enough to be shared stories of their creation.

Religion and Culture

The Penguins are a highly religious people that believe in a trinity of divine entities they believe are their guardians - Lunaningan; Goddess of the Moon and Death, Aipa; God of the Ocean and Sea and Magaruqnik, God of Hunting and Fishing.

Society and its Structure

A Penguin Worker

The society of the Penguins are secluded to Sinaaq and a few smaller villages nearby. They are led by an Emperor who is always named Kaskae. The lineage of Penguin emperors dates back to the dawn of their rise and follow a singular bloodline of Kaskaes

The Penguin society is separated into a working class and a hunting class.

The working class are the commoners of their village, they built up their homes, herd their livestock and take care of their young.

The hunting class are those who fight to protect their village as well as hunt by spearfishing or slaying beasts in the icefields to the east.

Penguins are bi-pedal race of flightless birds. They are covered in thick black and white plumage with colourful streaks of blue, yellow or amberish red found on a select few. They are short, standing around 100-150cm tall with the males typically taller than the females.
