Radio
Throughout the course of history, communication across Auria has been done through travel or by mail. Slow and sometimes unreliable, many have theory crafted means of hastening the process of communication using both Magic and Engineering with none more invested in finding an effective means of long distance communication than the Fenik. In the year 1895 the Fenik inventor Marcox Guglin would make a breakthrough in using electromagnetic radiowaves to transport signals from one machine to another, creating a series of transmitters that could send out vocal messages from Steamgear City all the way to Fexham. Through a continued process of adapting the first model of his "Radio", Marcox would manage to make a product that he could pitch to the leaders of Steamgear in an effort to start a campaign of building specialized buildings called Radio Stations throughout the Voltex region and then sell his Radio to the commonfolk, a campaign that at first would have its doubters but would end up becoming a commercial success that revolutionized the way Fenik would be able to send out messages during times of conflict and consume entertainment in times of peace, leading to the creation of musicians in their nation that could record and sell their music to the Radio Stations so that everyone with a Radio could listen to them.
Since its inception, the Radio has remained a staple in a Fenik home, however the requirement of needing an active Radio Station has hindered its spread onto other planets. Recently, following the end of the Grand War, the Tyrantfall Militia in Grukoor commissioned the Fenik to build a station in the town of Redbrook and bring the sensation of Radio entertainment over to help the people of the Desolate Drifts. The Radio has also become successful in Imperia following Queen Regindra Fedelerin's rise to the throne, causing Radio Stations to be built in New Luxford, King's Crossing and even expanding out to Thorimar and Shassussin.
Technicalities
Radios are small, metallic constructs that are meant to be portable and easy to use. They receive a transmission from the nearest Radio Station to play music or send out messages.
Radios are also built to send transmissions to other Radios and, using the attached speaker, send out a message to it or even multiple Radios so long as they are in reach.
