Background
Born into an esteemed family in Nytlerei run by a single loving father, Rillian and her twin-sister Relynndra resorted to petty crimes at an early age when their beloved father went missing and was presumed dead. While Relynndra did so to spite everyone around her, Rillian believed her father to be alive and that through extreme actions she may find the answers to his whereabouts, alas to this day she would not find the answers. Together, the sisters Astralleaf would make a name for themselves in the shadowy parts of Nytlerei with countless number of thievery and a handful of bloody deaths marked on their heads, Rillian never taking pride in the kills she had to partake in yet whether it be by arrow or by blade she committed to the act so she may make progress in finding her father.
Having lost hope of finding her parent after many years of searching and unable to live life as a criminal for the rest of her life, Rillian finally gave herself in to the authority so that she may be punished accordingly, sparing her sister a similar fate. For her actions of thievery and even murder, Rillian was imprisoned in the Iron Barrow to await a decision made on her final fate, serving ten years in solitude. Despite her own belief that she deserved death, the justice of Wylderin deemed her serve another cause - to join the ranks of the Dusksong and use her criminal knowledge to root out evil within Nytlerei. Honoured to have been given a second chance yet troubled that she may ultimately have to confront her sister, Rillian took up the task with a level of reluctance. She would go on to discharge justice on the wicked and punish those she previously considered allies in arms, marking her a traitor by the rogues who stalked the shadows.
Never having to confront her sister, Rillian was left unsure of herself for the coming years, unable to shake off her mind from her missing father and now her absent sister. She would go on to be promoted into a special force within the Wylderin who dealt with affairs away from Gwynbrenon and on other planets, however her very first assignment to Saberos would also be her last - The mark which painted her a traitor among the criminal scum of the capital city would come back to haunt her. During a mission on the tropical isles, Rillian's squadron would get ambushed by a band of outlaws who had followed them to their mission with the pure intent of killing her and her "justice-dogs", as remarked by one of the thugs. Thanks to their element of surprise, the outlaws would succeed in their attack, cutting down Rillian's comrades first and severely wounding Rillian so she may watch her friends die before she does.
Whether it be through the blessings of the Gods or her own willpower, Rillian did not fall to her wounds that day and lived long enough to be found by a village of Vishaali, raising her back to good health within the span of a few months. As she laid in bed wounded by those she once worked with out of necessity, Rillian fell into a pit of despair for having lost so much in her life as well as living through so many personal disasters yet never dying, no it had always been someone else who she lost. She was determined to put an end to her life once her legs could lift her broken body up yet again however she never was able to go through with it. Noticing her despair, The village's spiritual leader Khushee Keemaan befriended the loathing Elf and took her under her wing as a student to help her on her way to finding enlightenment and certainty.
For the next five years, Rillian studied under Keemaan's tutelage and found a new means of fighting which better spoke for her character: through fist and foot rather than blade and arrow. Though she would leave the village earlier than most, Rillian left it learning to not let old memories haunt her being and move forwards into the future with a more enlightened mindset, eager to travel the world in search of a new purpose or duty.
Yet the questions still linger in her mind, even if they don't haunt her anymore: What has happened to her father and her sister?
Powers and Abilities
Rillian Astralleaf adopts a martial arts fighting style which involves overwhelming her foes with powerful fist and foot attacks that she delivers at consistently fast speeds. She is able to break stone with her hands and bend metal with her feet, meaning even heavily-armoured opponents are not spared of her fury. Rillian also uses spiritual magic used by many of the Sacred Order through which she may restore health to allies and punish enemies, though her most used technique for magic is enhancing her own physical attacks with elemental properties. Lastly, she may invoke a spell that creates two duplicates of herself that confuse and attack foes with ghost-like strikes, though using this technique also severely exhausts Rillian.
Before becoming a Monk, Rillian was adapt at wielding a pair of blades as well as a bow and arrow.
