Overview

The Mystical planet of Serena is home to the equally mystical Naga, a race of half-serpent Humanoids that thrive on the use of spiritual magic and perfecting the art of war. Much of the land is decorated in high-reaching mountains with sharp peaks that penetrate the heavens and lush, serene fields cushioned between them while magical rivers run through the earth like veins of a living being, the water in Serena known for its healing properties. The regions in Serena are known as Hanayama Peaks to the south, Tuurai Fields to the west and Himalya Reaches to the north.

Serena is the fifth largest planet in Auria. It is the fifth Planet from the sun.

Hanayama Peaks

Hanayama makes up half of Serena's mainland. It is a region mixed with tall mountains encircling peaceful blossoming forests, cliffs and hills. Hanayama's western region is a widespread and even grounded field left largely to the wilderness with animals of different species allowed to prosper there with a mountain range acting as the spine of the field running through it known as Sekitsa. The eastern side of Hanayama is more vertical with an ever-rising land spanning northward, the highest point below the mountains housing the Romin of the the Sacred Order.

Himalya Reaches

Just north of Hanayama is where Himalya is located, separated from the rest of Serena's mainland. It is a colder region with high mountains and low valleys. It is known as the Land of the Serpents who once long ago saved the Naga from dying out, acting as their guardian spirits in times of need. Their nests are situated at the tips of the snowy peaked mountains that decorate the islands of Himalya.

Though part of the mainland, the northern tip of Hanayama is actually considered under Himalya by the Naga as they wished to have their capital be situated in the region that is watched over by the Serpents. A magical airway spans the vast gap between the mainland and Himalya's largest island upkept by the Naga as a means of transportation from their capital to Il'ari and beyond.

Tuurai Fields

In ancient history the Tuurai Fields was home to the Oxine who's many tribes lived scattered lives in this hilly region that is forever autumnal. However when their people were left near extinct and the survivors feared to be killed, Tuurai was left largely abandoned by Mortal societies. The Naga remain uninterested in settling there due to their history beliefs towards the serpents and the Humans wish to keep their society close together in Serena leaving Tuurai free for the picking. At times Oxine pilgrims travel back to their ancestral land to gather herbs for their rituals to connect with their ancestors.

Eoduun-Sup Wilderness

Eoduun-Sup.jpg

Shadowed by the Hanayama heights, the Eoduun-Sup province is a lower land covered in dense, shadowed woods and jungle which is home to the Jadamida people. As home to the spider people, many mortals not affiliated by them stray away from Eoduun-Sup as stories have spread of the forests there being cursed, with those entering never able to return. This myth, though sounding absurd by some, is backed by some truth as throughout the land the statues of different mortal races can be found almost at random, their figures almost too lifelike to be considered made by a craftsman.

Seiryu Skylands

Doragon Skylands.jpg

In the long distant past there existed a fierce demon far too powerful to be left unnoticed by Dragonkind: Its roars would shake the land of Serena and its venom could threaten Gods. Unable to destroy it fully, this demon was shackled and imprisoned beneath the land so that it may no longer threaten the serenity of the natives, but the process of imprisonment proved difficult and required sacrifices. Seiryu, Dragonlord of the Serpents, who had clashed with the demon to keep it at bay while the others worked to imprison it, was slain when he succumbed to the venom. To honour his bravery and fighting spirit, the land that was upheaved and sent to the skies by the summoning of the demon was named after Seiryu and became the permanent home of the Serpents.

The Seiryu Skylands are a collection of displayed pieces of Serena's earth that float high above the base landmass of the planet. Though shattered from the land, these Skylands retain their fertility and vibrancy and are sacred to Dragonkind because of the legend connecting to it. These flying islands are stationary in the air and range in sizes going as big as whole fields. The largest of these islands is named Doragon and it is the great temple city of the Serpents.

Most of the Skylands are uninhabited due to the elevation and colder climate proving difficult for extended exposure. An exception can be made for the Chojin Avari that have made the northern isles their home and hunting ground. The Naga, Oxine and Jadami all view the Skylands with reverence and actively avoid going there unless it is to pay respects in Doragon, where Mortals are welcomed for that very same reason.
