Early Life

Born in Sunwatch, a town in northern Livanin, Sheela Neel was 10 when the War of the Sands started between the Humans, Sark and Senkh over territorial conflicts in the wastelands. Her father and older brother were both a part of the militia fighting to protect the town she lived in and her mother was a leatherworker who aided the Humans in creating suitable armour for the battle and as such the Senkh and Sark saw no reason not to cut all three of them down in their prime, slaying them for the sake of victory and leaving their young, innocent Sheela alive alongside others who had no direct part in the battle. The War lasted only two years and in that time the Senkh gained full control over the desert, forcing alive non-Senkh to leave either by sea or by land. While the Sark took the treacherous sea as their route, the Humans had to take the Farside Canyon which led directly to the Human Kingdom of Luxfordia. They trip lasted many weeks and the region was not exactly known for its peaceful pacifist creatures. No, the canyon posed a lot of difficulties for the ill-equipped civilians who were now homeless, at the mercy of the wilds. It was rare for a day to pass without one of their numbers dying from illness, thirst, hunger or an attack from the beasts that resided in the canyon.

Sheela's often struggled to keep up with the others as she was still young, though her resourcefulness allowed them to sometimes take short cuts or redirect the beasts, often saving... or should one say, delayed the deaths of her allies. By the end of the second week, most of the canyon had been passed but the group had been cut down to only three people. They had gone days without eating, their spirits were low and their stamina drained. On the night of the fifteenth day, their camp was attacked by large, poisonous Scorpions that slew Sheela's remaining partymembers, in their last breath one of them urged Sheela to run, which she did, the Scorpions hunting her in the dead of night and would it not be for a saving grace she would have been dead too. Having stumbled onto the ground out of exhaustion, the young girl was at death's door when suddenly a pack of Shrevir leaped down from the cliffs, striking down the Scorpions and aided the Human onto her feet.

Her memory had gotten hazy by then, remembering little more than the furry embrace of one of the Shrevir, the soft tone of a woman and the girly tone of another girl. When next she awakened, Sheela found herself laying in a bed inside a house. At first she thought it was all a nightmare and that she was safely home in Sunwatch but then an old woman named Caroline revealed herself, softly explaining to the girl that she must rest, explaining all that she could to her without overburdening the young one. Though her body was healed, that also meant her mind now had time to process what she went through the past two weeks. She was devastated, nightmares haunting her every night and as she would grow up, her memories would linger on, a hatred towards the Senkh that she strongly held onto.

Though at first she lived feeling like an outcast in her new town, she would soon gain the friendship of a girl called Caelina Duze who, like her, was also from the desert though her family moved away years ago. The two begun to grow close, becoming best friends who did everything together, from playing around in the fields to braiding each others' hair.

Eternal Passion

Close to 20 years would pass yet nothing would change in the dark-skinned Sheela. Her hatred burned bright towards the snake people and her passion for vengeance guided her to join King Yvain's Army to retake Livanin, being put into a unit specially trained to bear the heat of the wastelands that was called the Sunstalkers with a hundred total soldiers in it, her best friend Caelina also volunteering to be a part of the war effort as a medic. Sheela Neel spent her days honing her skill in combat until the day would come where she and her fellow Sunstalkers and the rest of the Grand Army would lead a brutal assault upon the Senkh, catching them completely off guard as they were still reeling from the combat. Sheela was in the front of it all where she lead attacks against the Senkh, sieging each of the smaller towns of their empire without any remorse for the innocents.

Unfortunately for her, the Senkh were able to escape to their city of Shassusin and close it off from any further conflict, praying to their god and channeling divine magic to shield the city from being entered by the Humans. Wishing to keep the momentum going, Yvain led his armies east to Grokuur to continue the spree of conquests while leaving the Sunstalkers behind to watch over the desert, leaving Sheela Neel in charge of them. Sheela was honoured by this decision and vowed to her King that the Sunstalkers shall make sure the desert becomes theirs.

With nothing to fight and the city still bordered off, the Sunstalkers traveled back to Dawn's Edge. They took advantage of the terrain to turn their town into a gate through which all would have to go through if they wished to exit or enter the wastelands, cornering the Senkh in their own homelands.

Years would pass without any further news from the Grand Capital and in the meantime Sheela would begin to make more friends among the woman of the Sunstalkers, with Caelina always at her back to support her leadership. The two had grown ever closer on the battlefield and love would spark between them, the two vowing to stay by each other's side till the end of their days.

One day, word would reach the Sunstalkers that the war had failed, King Yvain was slain and Luxfordia had been taken by the Asvars. Among the Sunstalkers, conflict would also arise as some deemed their duty as invalid now and wished to return to Luxfordia, however Sheela and her council of friends did not see it as such. They were deeply loyal to their king even if it meant distancing themselves from their own kingdom, banishing those that wished to be loyal to Luxfordia into the canyon with minimal supplies, forcing them to walk the road that Sheela had to long ago. In the process of banishing all she saw unfit to be Sunstalkers, Sheela also saw that the men of her town begun to think themselves higher than her and a plot to dethrone her from her position was brought to her attention, a truth that she did not take too kindly to hearing and in reaction to it, she had all men, innocent or not, be brought into the wastelands and left there to starve and die, though some of them were able to survive and were rescued by the Senkh when their barrier would eventually fall.

Sheela saw that no man was to be trusted and announced the Sunstalkers would remain a female-only faction till the end of times. She ruled the Sunstalkers till her last breath while living a loving life with her wife, Caelina, slowly developing Dawn's Edge into a proper town that served as a border control between the wasteland and the canyons. As her age would begin to catch up to her, Sheela has given leadership over the Sunstalkers to her champion named S'andera. She and her wife Caelina continue to aid their chieftain with making important decisions, slowly preparing her to take the role of leadership on alone.

Physical Appearence

Sheela is a fit, dark-skinned Human with long black hair that is partially free-flowing, partially braided and she has sharp brown eyes. Her armour is kept on the lighter side as she prefered to stay agile in combat, wearing reinforced leather over her chest, hands, feet and thigh region, stylized with golden jewerly and silk to make her stand out more among the crowd. She also has a leather circlet around her head.

Sheela wields two short swords and a large crossbow, with her quiver full of bolts hanging off her belt that also has a flask of oasis water, potions and medicine on it. She also keeps a spare dagger sheathed on her left ankle, using it in emergencies when she gets disarmed. The dagger is coated in a deadly Scorpion venom that acts rapidly.
