Background
"Beware the Shadow of Perisha"
Long have mortals from all planets across the galaxy told tales of the Goddess of Death known as Perisha, the last face anyone sees in life and the first they see in death. She is the eternal watcher of souls passing onto the Afterworld and depending on the actions taken by the one who dies, her facade can change drastically.
Yet a tale many reluctantly speak of is her shadow, the clouded terror that hunts down those that cannot accept death, springing terror and fear upon the hearts of many - Shikaze. She is the notorious Goddess of Shadows, a stark contrast to the beauty and elegance of her twin she is the dark side of the Moon. She came to be alongside Perisha to aid her in keeping the cycle of life and death in balance by personally being the executioner for the Goddess of Death, ripping and shredding the soul out of the bodies of mortals before delivering them unto the realm of the thereafter so that Perisha may judge them accordingly. In every death both Perisha and Shikaze exist but depending on how much one accepts their own demise one figure sticks out more than the other.
It is because of her nature and the darkness she represents that many mortals dare not devote themselves to her, instead preferring to revere the Death Goddess as she is known to be the one taking care of every soul that passes from the living world. The denial of Shikaze's existence is often the same as when she appears before one's very eyes to draw out their final breath, a stubborn and hopeless attempt at escaping reality and despite many not wishing to utter her name, the fear of her exists in all and that grants the Goddess of Shadows her strength.
This reputation of her has also extended into the Afterworld where Shikaze rarely shows her face to anyone other than her sister, almost making her a myth among other Gods.
Despite the task bestowed upon her, Shikaze honours those she puts an end to by carving their name into a metal tag and hanging their name within Kurato.
Powers and Abilities
Shikaze is a notoriously powerful God that employs many different tactics to hunt down the souls of the dead. She wields a large, double-bladed warglaive called Crescendo with which she always delivers the final blow, cutting into the very essence of a being to pull along their soul which she then sends to Perisha.
Against those that have accepted their fate, Shikaze remains faint and silent, her presence felt only little and her killing blow subtle and easy. It is said that does who do not struggle against her cannot see her, as she can deliver their deliverance swiftly and bring them to the judgement of Perisha.
Against those that fight against their fate, Shikaze becomes more noticeable and aggressive, pursuing her target like a terror beast often using their greatest fears against them by summoning images to frighten and haunt them in their last moments, often times tormenting and torturing her victims based on how much they truly are in denial. Those that have been hunted by Shikaze recall a haunting, heart-beating melody following them wherever they tried to go or hide. Few exist who have managed to evade the blade of the Goddess of Shadows.
Shikaze is also known for tormenting those that have been bad in life. She has had a difficult time collecting souls touched by the Cosmos. She can cast duplicates of herself and an array of shadowy beings which hunt souls for her when she is preoccupied.
Rumours circulate in the Afterworlds that despite not being a Prime God, Shikaze could match in power or even surpass them should conflict arise. She is close with the God of Time Aechronos, with whom she has made a deal that allows her partial control over her own time so that she may hunt souls quicker and almost. She has also trained with Geomi-Sin, God of Subtlety.
Physical Description
Much like her behavior, Shikaze's appearance is a stark contrast to Perisha's. While the latter wears little in accessories and represents purity in looks, Shikaze is garbed in a warrior's battle armour adorned in spiked guards and red rope. Her horned mask is white with a blood red mark painted on the forehead, two blue eyes glowing out of the eyesockets of the mask. Long white hair flows from behind the mask.
Little of her actual skin is revealed as she remains concealed in her armour though those that know her close also know that she has dark red fur.
She takes the form of a dark, ghost-like Wolf in her bestial form, though she often only uses it to terrorize the souls of those trying to run away.
