Background

Shrevir are a race of cat-like people residing in northern part of Livanin Desert. Origin of Shrevir is not known as there is no written source regarding that and the oldest books in libraries of Luxfordia and Shassusin are mentioning Shrevir in their prime. Perhaps books stored in Dragonhearth library may have their origin described, yet no one was brave enough to get into capital city of dragons, especially once the news of bloody rampage on their land were spread.

Shrevir are controlling path between Shassusin and Luxfordia, disallowing every trader to pass through the canyon unless they buy tokens straight from Shrevir or their allies, Sunstalkers. These tokens varying in quantity and quality, depending on goods they are transporting. The price for these tokens can be paid in Gexes or goods they wanted to trade. Shrevir are known to live in this part of Livanin Desert for ages and no matter what precautions or direct approaches were taken to deal with them, they were left undefeated in their home region. Their ability to perfectly adapt to the rocky and sandy environment combined with great memory made them a powerful threat not worth dealing with directly, especially once they got in control of underground tunnels that spread thorough whole canyon, ready to ambush and eliminate enemies.

Nowadays Luxfordia and Shassusin have an armistice signed with Sunstalkers and Shrevir where people are able to cross their lands after paying a toll, traders being taxed extra. Tokens are bought at the entrance to the canyon and returned at the end of it. or the other way around, depending from where the passerby comes.

Due to armistice Shrevir and Sunstalkers were able to repopulate and strengthen their numbers. Purebreeds were left in the capital cities of their respected races and hybrids formed two moderately-sized settlements, Wetwheat and Sandthorn. Sunstalkers and Shrevir are living in these settlements as well but they are vastly outnumbered by their hybrid children that are focused on more farming lifestyle with growing crops and hunting for animals. Wetwheat and Sandthorn are main contributors of independent food source for Furorza and Dawn's Edge, often being a saving grace when traders are less active on their main path from which they take tolls. With new outposts being created and controlling a sea region between Wetwheat and Sandthorn Shrevir once more started to become a threat to Luxfordia and Shassusin which was progressively moving towards sea and its trading routes.

Religion and Culture

Shrevir don't believe in any kind of specific God nor Deity and are free to follow whoever an individual chooses, as long as it does not handicap the good of the tribe... That is unless one goes on their way separating from the tribe or simply goes against it for personal reasons. Whether the case Shrevir believe that their tribe, called a family, is above anything else.

Shrevir don't celebrate birthday like most races of Auria and instead resort to two celebrations a year. During the warmest and coldest day of the year they make one and gather the Shrevir of various ages that were born close to this day before making a big bonfire at night with a solid feast for everyone to enjoy. The children tend to receive dry meat snacks with cactus jellies while adults tend to enjoy their homemade alcohols, sometimes adding into the mix ones from other regions and races.

Shrevir that don't live in Furorza and are hybrids tend to track their birthday dates, leading to more individual parties yet still they inherited the tradition from their parents, leading to two celebrations a year that are meant to cheer up the spirit of people and spend the time as one big family.

Society and its Structure

Shrevir don't segregate each other by gender when it comes to work they have to do. However there tend to be tendencies in some of them. Men are more likely to hunt for animals while women tend to negotiate with traders that want to pass through their region, usually achieving better results than their male counterparts. However even with some tendencies men and women are equally skilled in melee and ranged combat and there isn't a clear path one has to go with as they have an equal chance to become a warrior or an archer, the same goes for more regular jobs. This behavior is also mimicked by the hybrids, leading to a society of mutual respect where aggressiveness towards one another is frowned upon.

Physical appearance and Behavior

Shrevir come in various shapes and forms but they always have tails and ears that can be either long or very short, depending on the genetics. Eyes are able to accustom to various lighting conditions due to their unusual structure. Their bodies are usually covered in rather thin fur that comes in various colors but white tends to be the rarest and shades of brown being the most common. Their bodies aren't too different from humans when it comes to general posture and height but they tend to outsize them on average and naturally pack more strength, especially when comparing women.

Shrevir hybrids nearly always inherit tail and ears, while rare cases miss one of the two mentioned things. Extremely rare ones lack both but tend to make up in other regions, whether with sharp as blade nails, unusual eyes, sharper and deadlier teeth, ending up on more cat-like instinct and behavior. The same applies to more traditional hybrids that tend to struggle between other races as they are more prone to have their instincts abused by others, whether it is by accidents or malicious intend. With that Shrevir and the hybrids tend to avoid contact with other races and settlements, except Sunstalkers, as earning their trust is exceptionally hard. However once someone earns trust of a Shrevir and comes to visit one of their settlements they will be welcomed much more than a random visitor that may be greeted with cold gazes, rough language and pesky questions.
