Long, long ago, when the Galaxy was still young and barren Medena, Goddess of Nature, came down from the heavens and sowed blessed seeds into the soil so that they may one day grow into prosperous guardians of the land's wildlife - the World Trees. She infused each seed with a gift from a God, each one from a unique deity, so that the land may know the devotion of the heavens.

Centuries later, those seeds sown by Medena would sprout and grow into enormous trees that towered over the landscape and gave birth to entire forests full of life and richness. Beasts, Monsters and Mortals were given presents in the form of fertile lands upon which they could sustain themselves. Sadly the desire to wage war would be natural for the races of Auria and soon the lands that were given life by Medena suffered from the fires of conflict, the love that they should have had for the trees extinguishing and in its place decay befell them. Many World Trees would not stand the test of time and would, over time, die. When non-stop conflict or an overzealous desire to harvest the yields of nature did not kill the World Trees, it would be the folly of the Gods themselves or the fury of the Cosmos that would deal the killing blow for many of them - The Dusk of Dawn saw the end of many such Trees and the war between Incendius and his daughter Sol Peleges would burn away all life on Grukoor.

Yet where there is deceit and hate, there is also love and admiration - In Gwynbrenon, the revered planet for Medena and her mate Fenros, many World Trees would know eternal life thanks to the Elves, a race who saw nature as the great caregiver and built a culture to revere it without hesitation. The Wildguard, later known as the Wylderin, sought to watch over the World Trees and built their settlements around each one so that they may act as sentinels for them, building homes that incorporated the free spirit of the wilds that allowed wild, tranquil animals to walk freely through their streets and be blessed by the shadow of the World Trees and the fruit they bare. As implied previously, Gwynbrenon is home to the largest quantity of World Trees in Auria. The Wylderin have built their settlements around every World Tree in the Tranquilon and Emberos regions to oversee their protection while the Trolls, who also have a culture based on nature, saw it best to mostly settle away from them.
