Since the dawn of being, the noble and mighty Ydnesuur have existed in Auria as its fervent most keepers of nature and guardians of the wilds. Beings of unmatched power, the Ydnesuur are a product of divine energies shaped by primordial energies to watch over the many lands. Much like Gods are empowered by the Faith of their followers, the Ydnesuur feel most powerful when the nature around them is kept healthy and fertile.
During a time when the native Elves and Trolls begun to civilize and form a society, the Ydnesuur of Gwynbrenon would watch them from the shadows of the trees, ever watchful as the long-eared people begun to grow in synergy with the wilds they revered. Though they had a stubborn disliking towards these races, or any race in that matter, the Ydnesuur would grow to not only like them but also enjoy their company when their worship was extended towards the treefolk, forging a bond of friendship between mortal and Ydnesuur. As forces of nature, the Ydnesuur did not care for the Fenik when they were ultimately pushed out of Gwynbrenon, their primitive yet chaotic machinery something of a nuisance for them.
Though other planets have the Ydnesuur as well, their presence there has been limited by the growth of mortal civilization, limiting their powers as a result of the wilds becoming urbanized. Regions outside of Gwynbrenon where the Ydnesuur thrive include the southern Dunondrann Mountains of Imperia, the Tuurai Fields and Eoduun-Sup Wilderness of Serena, the Dzungle Wilds in Grukoor, the Gardens of Eternity in Wyrmeron and Goldstar Key alongside a dozen secluded islands in Saberos. Native mortals who still share land with the Ydnesuur have come to respect them and revere them, for example the Vishaali and the Jadami.
Gwynbrenon continues to be their favoured planet as it is here that the Ydnesuur are most in number, and because of their ties with the Wylderin a few among them have found themselves integrated into their civilization as guardians and teachers. Elves and especially Wolfen revere the Ydnesuur for the strength and wisdom they wield, often times singing praise to them.
Ydnesuur create Treants from the soil that they bless and cultivate.
Powers
Ydnesuur are one of, if not Auria's most powerful natural beings. Standing at colossal sizes, the Ydnesuur are powerful enough to shake the earth with their steps, magically capable enough to regrow entire forests with ease and tough enough to withstand explosions that may decimate entire buildings. Gifted with eternal life, the Ydnesuur are conduits of near infinite wisdom, having lived through much of Auria's history and happenings, though they do not part with this wisdom easily. Their spirits are directly linked to the nature around them and they exert a degree of power over their environment, their presence directly nourishes the land they are linked to and they are able to guide nature's beasts or even change the weather temporarily if it serves the wilds well. Because of their strong connection to the wilds, slaying a Ydnesuur may also scream great uncertainty and sorrow to the environment for some time after.
Physical Appearance
The Ydnesuur are giant treefolk with animalistic facial structures. Their bodies are covered in divine bark and plentiful of leaves sprout out from their bodies, particularly from their head to resemble hair and manes.
