Liches are incredibly powerful undead magic users who were once living spellcrafters who underwent a painful and torturous ritual known as the Rite of Bone to transform themselves into powerful Liches, quite literally stripping away their own flesh through the use of highly-condensed magical forces while simultaneously twisting and stretching their own bones to grow them bigger while infusing them with latent, raw energies that give Liches the notorious power they possess. Many who are unprepared die during the rite and if the ritual is interrupted like in the case of Anothoris Soulfrost then their bodies are left frail and skeletal risking death in the long-run unless they are able to complete the spell in the near future.

Liches are very few in number due to the complexity surrounding their creation however those that survive it become high-threat enemies that many kingdoms actively seek to destroy as soon as possible.

Abilities

Liches possess unparalleled magical skill which rivals fully grown Dragons in magic and might. They commonly use shadow and frost magic but do not like to limit themselves to just those and often even employ spells they used when they were still alive. Necromancy is also a natural skill in a Lich's arsenal due to their connection with undeath which allows them to seamlessly animate corpses and bind them to their will.

Liches are also naturally tough and require incredible force or strength to break their enchanted bones and even if their skeletal bodies were to be destroyed, the soul of the Lich is untamed and needs to be exorcised to put an end to them.

Physical Appearence

Liches often appear as massive skeleton figures with mage-like garments. Their bodies glow with an eerie light, pulsing like an artificial heart-rate.
