Background

Born in the icy northlands of Himalya, Dashi was the name given to the child of two Xiongian Soldiers Shibin and Zhandou who fell in battle against a massive, mad-driven Serpent which attacked their town of Haibian. Having made an orphan long before she could have a change at a life with them, Dashi was placed into the care of the settlement's renowned Blacksmith Hu-Ren Jian by his own request. Dashi would grow up under Hu-Ren's protection and guidance, her sole father-figure teaching the young girl the fine art of bending metal into armor and weapons, a profession she would find herself a natural at as a student of Master Jian.

As Dashi was arriving adolescence she would develop an interest in joining the Xiongian Army in hopes of following the path of her parents and ultimately avenge her death. Having grown attached to his adopted daughter, Hu-Ren disapproved the notion of joining the front ranks of her town's militia fearing she might not be strong enough when a true battle were to take place. This limited Dashi to spend her afternoons practicing alone her swordsmanship using the weapons she herself crafted. Day in and day out, the young Urson did nothing but indulge herself in rigorous martial training and stories of heroes across Auria.

When she came to be a respected adult, Dashi was allowed to make her own decisions in life without a parental figure holding her back. Forgoing any worries her father had towards her, Dashi joined the army. In her time there, the up and coming warrioress found great joy in a competition of strength which was oft held among the other young soldiers in her squadron and despite the fact that most were male, Dashi would manage to keep up or eve surpass them in time. Dashi's renown would continue to grow as she found herself adapt in using any form of weapon with ease, whether it be a battle axe or a lance - Dashi wielded them all in battle against the enemies that threatened her village.

One day, while on patrol with her squad, Dashi would come across tracks belonging to a monster of a different sort, one which eluded their knowledge and sparked her curiosity. Despite protests from her comrades, Dashi pursued the tracks to a nearby cavern belonging to a Serpent. Deep within her memory she suddenly remembered the atrocity that took place when she was put a speechless cub, of her mother and father's gruesome death at the hands of a similar Dragon. Rage suddenly built up inside of her and compelled Dashi to charge onwards with reckless abandon, driving her spear into the back of the slumbering beast which only served to awaken it and lash out. A battle would start between the group of novice soldiers of the militia against the Serpent in which most were stricken lethally by the beast's large claws and heaving tail, including Dashi who would suffer countless blows to her body and cuts into her hide. The fight would take a turn as the Serpent impaled one of Dashi's friends, Hao-De Shi, on its wingspike in front of the rage-taken Dashi, her allies calling for a retreat and pulling Dashi with them.

Back in Haibian, Dashi's superiors resented her actions in endangering her allies like so and even causing the death of one of them. She was consequently banished from her town for her recklessness, a punishment she herself would see fit not only for her penance but also so that she may pursue the hunt alone from now on. Dashi would spend the next few years wandering the Himalyan wastes, making a temporary home for herself on its southern shore where she lived off of the wilds and her own knowledge in craftsmanship. Every day she lived with a vengeance boiling inside of her, one now ignited more brightly in memory of Hao-De Shi and the time she spent with her, crafting and perfecting a set of weapons specifically made to pierce Serpent scales.

On the day she would plan to finish the job with the Dragon, her father Hu-Ren would come to see her. Concern was awash in his eyes as he saw her preparing for a fight that might cost her her life, yet for Dashi his concerned meant nothing, brushing them aside as meager attempts at chaining her to his wishes. As she left her camp and her father, the last words she'd hear would be of her parents' wishes to see her move on with her life, not cling onto the past. As she came to the lair to deliver the killing blow, she would find herself coming face to face with the Serpent she swore to slay, yet before she could deliver a blow, the Dragon spoke to her in calmness and revealed to her the remains of the Serpent she actually wanted to slay, one that was culled by the villagers following the death of Hao-De and Dashi's banishment. He revealed to her that his father, the slain Serpent, was also drowned in needs of revenge, for it is the Serpents that have been hunted by the Urson of the Himalya ever since they first set foot in the icy northlands of Serena. The Serpent, naming himself Chunzhen, had tried to speak his father out of the madness that took him, and for his failures in doing so, he had to witness him continuing a cycle of hatred between man and Dragon and ultimately be cut down as a result of it.

Dashi would concede following the words of Chunzhen, thinking of her own father's words moments before she departed for her hunt, and as tears were awash in her eyes, the Urson sheathed her weapon and left the lair of the Serpent, returning to the path to her temporary home where she would once more come across Hu-Ren, the venerable Urson coming to hug his daughter joyous of her safebeing. Dashi did the same, grasping her father and apologizing for everything she had done. Though she could not take back what her rage caused, she accepted her fate as one banished from her home town and she would openly consider it a calling for new opportunities. What would be worry of her daughter's decisions before would now be certainty and understanding from her father, who saw in his daughter's eyes a learned soul ready for change.

Dashi would leave her father's side soon after, speaking in excitement of what life may have to offer, reciting his own words from the day where she was to kill the Serpent. She would leave the Himalya Reaches to take to a life of adventuring across the Galaxy, putting her skills with weapons to better use as a protector of the weak and a kind soul wishing well-being onto others. In her journeys across the seven planets, Dashi also met many different blacksmiths and learned from them their techniques so that she may put those techniques to use in her own armor and weapons. Though the adventuring life was grand, another opportunity would soon show itself when she would be visiting the town of King's Crossing in Azura. There an old blacksmith building caught the eye of the Urson in her older years, one previously belonging to a Dwarven smith who has since then passed on from this world. Dashi did not know this Dwarf, yet the building they had left behind called for her, so she used what money she made questing to buy the building and renovate it into her permanent home as well as a workshop that would provide business and a steady income to the Urson. Putting to use her extensive knowledge, Dashi's shop, The Golden Serpent, would become an overnight success with heroes, adventurers and even officials from the Kingdom of Luxfordia placing orders from her.

Over time, Dashi has built a reputation of a master blacksmith in the town and used the money she makes to develop her forge with a style akin to the Xiong of her homeland as well as enjoying the luxuries of life to their best, as she believes it is what her parents would have wanted out of her. Even at her older age, Dashi Zao has made a name out of herself as a frisky, unquestionable forgemaster who's prices are worth paying for in any means possible.

Powers and Abilities

In her youth, Dashi was a fierce and knowledged fighter who could wield any weapon into battle. Though she has aged much since then and has done less battling now, Dashi has managed to hold her own against the occasional encounter she gets herself into whether willingly or unwillingly. Thanks to her masterful skills in both Urson and Dwarven blacksmithing, Dashi Zao is capable of producing incredible pieces of equipment which she also uses for herself in combat, making her strikes deadly and her defenses reliable.
