Background

Master of the light and brother to the God of the Dead Anub, Ra-Mun is a holy figure that wields the powers of the sun itself in his fingertips and serves directly under the Prime God of Life Rengrown.

At first, Anub and Ra-Mun were one being called Amun, a combination of Perisha's and Rengrown's powers but at some point during the Dusk of Dawn he was split in two. While Anub became the God of the Dead in Perisha's domain, Ra-Mun would be set to become the God of the Sun in Rengrown's domain.

However, after becoming split in half Ra-Mun was devoid of the one thing that every being requires to exist, Life, as it was left within Anub fully. Ra-Mun became a lifeless body that many thought had passed from the world thereafter yet Rengrown would not let him go to waste and infused his empty coil with new life, granting Ra-Mun a second existence. Yet it was not a perfect reincarnation - Rengrown had used empty souls to revive Ra-Mun leaving him devoid of character, personality and emotions - a machine, in the eyes of some, that would function purely to fulfil his purpose. Eventually he would even lose the status of being the God of the Sun as that role was shifted to Sol Peleges, the Goddess of Fertility, daughter of the Prime God of Fire and the consort to Rengrown himself. The knowledge of his lessened significance would offend Ra-Mun

Like his brother Anub, Ra-Mun would remain mostly irrelevant in the mythos of Auria until the Senkh began to worship him as the God that gave them light, gave them hope. With newfound faith drawn towards him that made the machine god one of the Diwntr, the Architect, Ra-Mun saw in him grow a new spark that gave him a chance to express himself more openly. He would watch as the Chronos worshiped him and revelled in it, seeing monuments in his image built high to signify the sunlight he gave them.

Ra-Mun would find himself in the annals of Luxfordia as well, his divine light made high note of during the reign of King Thutthus Lionheart. However after the end of the Lionheart lineage, most texts revering Ra-Mun would be forbidden and destroyed in Luxfordia in favour of crediting Charisa, the God most Luxfordian's solely worship. He is also worshiped by the Enkhulu and to a lesser extent the Sark, although they see him as the Sun Eagle instead. Lastly he has a high degree of importance among the Avari, although their oral traditions describe him as a half-giant Avari.

At a point in time Ra-Mun and Aestonix, God of Summer, began to mingle together, their story made note of in the "Eagle and the Phoenix" story told by the Avari. He would also become a willing servant to Sol Peleges, the two working together to strengthen the sunlight of Auria. As the carrier of her light, Ra-Mun would regain his powers over the sun.
