The Zealous Verdict are a draconic faction that openly opposes the rule of the Draconic Empire.
Background
Showing themselves active only recently, the Zealous Verdict (Sometimes simply called the Zealous, the Zealots or the Knights of Zeal) are a group of Dragonkind extremists that first formed when Davion was stripped of his rank and exiled from Dragonhearth for standing up for his fallen comrades. The Zealous, who were lowborn daring enough to follow in Davion's footsteps and echoed his actions through action, would lead a campaign to destabilise the governing powers of the empire in order to bring equality to the lowborn.
In the chaos of the two-year civil war that took place between the Zealous and the Empire, Davion would return and be hailed a hero and a figurehead. He welcomed this, and personally led the campaign to bring justice onto themselves. Eventually the highborn leaders of Dragonhearth would concede and give the lowborn what they wanted, granting Davion the title of Exarchos and bringing order back into Dragonhearth.
Yet this peace would not last long. Though the Lowborn were given new liberties, it did not erase the belittlement and inequality that they suffered. The Zealous Verdict would continue to operate in the shadows without Davion, who they saw now as a proud hero made into a pawn of the empire. They would keep on recruiting for a new cause, to do away with the social classes present in the Empire and bring true pride back to the hands of the oppressed. Around this time a new figurehead would step into the leadership role of the Zealous - Nidrogan.
By the start of the Grand War, Nidrogan's Zealous Verdict would ally themselves with Luxfordia and aid them in launching a siege on the United Tribes, causing the fall of Whitewind Rise. Beyond that, the Zealous Verdict also aided the Humans in their attacks on other nations of Auria, though their support would suddenly stop when the assault on Gwynbrenon started.
In the aftermath of the war, the Zealous would continue to launch attacks on Mortalkind without rhyme or reason, attacking small towns like Fexham unannounced.
